The Paddle Club

The Boathouse RB is a paddle club in Red Bank NJ; providing a riverfront home for members kayaks, paddleboards and rowing craft. Members store their boats secured in our river front racks and launch from our sand beach. 

Members can walk, bike and park in our private lot for paddling with no need to store at home or cartop their boats, all while they enjoy riverfront views and amenities one block away from Red Bank’s vibrant west side.

Members can use their choice of 2 Kayak rickshaw carts for easy transport of their boat, our smaller cart here with a members 13’ boat. We have 36 rugged kayak rack spaces for boats up to 20 ft long and 100 lbs.

When not in use members securely strap their boats to the racks, and store paddles in our separate paddle rack. Our staff is always willing to help you carry and rack your boat.

We have 11 paddleboard spots with several shaded for members inflatable boards and separate storage space for your paddles. Boat chairs, hose, bucket and rags too for easy cleanup of boats after your paddle. All accessible to members 24/7.

Paddle Club FAQs

  • Yes; members can access their boats and go out paddling 24/7

  • The parking lot, boat area and launching beach are available to members 24/7 so you can paddle at any time. The Boathouse inside building amenity spaces are open whenever staff, wellness professionals or event sponsors are present, typically from 9 to 5 daily. Days and times do vary with event schedules, the weather, tides and staff availability, you are encouraged to check with staff for updates.

  • Any hand launchable watercraft is welcome. If it fits in our rack, is human powered and can be launched from our beach its welcome. Our longest boat is a 20ft rowing shell, our heaviest is a 90lb. Hobie pedal driven fishing kayak

  • Yes, the sand beach extends out to waterline at all but the lowest tide.

  • With 4 ft of height change 2x daily that’s a good question. During paddle season, we email weekly tide predictions & recommended paddling times to all members, so you know what conditions to expect and can plan ahead. Still in doubt? Text us to confirm conditions.

  • Yes, we have 20 off street, paved, parking spots reserved for Boathouse tenants and members.

  • There is a wide, gradual, and easily traversed set of steps from boat rack area to beach with 2 steps alternating between 4 ft landings. It’s always easiest to have 2 persons hand carry a kayak to and from the beach, our staff are eager to help you whenever present. You can even text us to arrange help on site for your paddle. For those occasions when help is not available, we have (2) rickshaw style kayak carts for moving your boat.

  • Yes, in the 24 years at this location we have had no incidents of any kind. We also have 7 CCTV cameras recording the site and parking areas 24/7. All racks accept both locking and non-locking boat straps to secure your boat or board.

  • We offer free local pickup for new members boats and boards. You can also have a new boat delivered directly to our location. Check with us for more details.

  • YES, its available 24/7 in the boat rack area along with folding boat chairs so you can clean off your boat or board at a comfortable standing height.

  • WAWA, Urban Coalhouse and Booskerdoo Coffee are 2 minutes from our location. For breakfast the Bagel Station is just a few blocks away. All offer food and beverages to go.

  • Two bathrooms are available inside the Boathouse lower level whenever the building is staffed. These are the best to use when coming and going to water and beach. We ask that the main floor bathroom and studio area be used only when members feet are clean. When the Boathouse building is off hours, bathrooms are available for patrons at nearby business’s including WAWA, the Galleria and Booskerdoo Coffee.

  • The Boathouse pantries on lower level and at studio level offer refrigerators for member convenience with filtered, chilled water and ice.

  • Members can always text us to verify staff hours, water, wind and tide conditions or arrange for on-site assistance with their boats.
